As part of the project’s specialist supply chain, FT Water Treatment supplied a significant amount of dual contained flexible pipework for the chemical dosing system in various sizes and materials.
A major water treatment
Eela Water Treatment Works, located near Ollaberry on the Shetland mainland, was originally constructed in 1978 and supplies drinking water to approximately 5,400 people, as well as the Sullom Voe Oil Terminal. The upgrade is designed to improve water quality, increase treatment capacity and provide a resilient long-term solution for the local water supply.
FT Water Treatment’s involvement
FT Water Treatment supplied dual contained chemical dosing hose as part of the new treatment system. A total of over 2600 metres of hose was supplied for the project, transporting chemicals such as Sodium Hypochlorite, Sodium Hydroxide and Orthophosphoric Acid.
Designed for demanding water treatment applications
FT Water Treatment’s chemical dosing hose systems are designed for use across a wide range of water and wastewater treatment applications. Depending on the product selected, systems can provide features including dual containment, chemical resistance and integrated leak detection, helping operators manage the risks associated with chemical dosing.
