TPV Dosing Hose – A Smarter Alternative to PTFE
Posted on Aug 07, 2025We are delighted to announce that TPV is now available to order for both Protectaflex and PF Detect dual-contained dosing hose. This new hose material is compatible with a wide range of chemicals, including sulphuric acid up to 98%, and comes at a very competitive price point.
TPV hose is currently available in sizes up to 25mm in drum quantities, with larger sizes coming soon.
Traditionally, for aggressive chemicals like sulphuric acid, PTFE hose has been the go-to. However, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) is considering a REACH restriction proposal aimed at limiting environmental and health risks associated with the manufacture and use of PFAS substances, which includes PTFE.
What is TPV?
TPV stands for Thermoplastic Vulcanizate – a high-performance elastomer that combines the flexibility of rubber with the processability of thermoplastics. It offers excellent chemical resistance, durability and flexibility, making it ideal for demanding dosing applications. Importantly, TPV is PFAS-free, offering a more sustainable alternative to PTFE without compromising on performance.
